Lifting Operations - What you need to know!

The Durham Centre, Belmont Industrial Estate, Durham  DH1 1TN

The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) apply to any lifting equipment used at work and cover a wide range of equipment including cranes, forklift trucks, telehandlers and lifting accessories such as chains, slings, eyebolts, etc.

Lifting operations should be planned, supervised and carried out in a safe manner by people who are competent.

This half day event is aimed at all those with day-to-day responsibility for planning lifting operations.  It will look at roles and responsibilities under LOLER and the factors you need to consider when using different types of lifting equipment, including lifting with excavators.

Places will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis.  Flyer/booking form below or secure your place via Eventbrite here -

    Site and Highways Traffic Management

Ledbury Rugby Football Club, Ross Road, Ledbury, HR8 2LP

Many, if not all construction activities have a common hazard, which is exposure to construction plant and vehicles.

Did you know that after ‘falls from height’, ‘being struck by a moving vehicle’ accounted for 30 fatal injuries to workers in 2018/19 compared with 24 in 2017/18 (

    source HSE).

With the above in mind, this event will explore the expectations of suitable traffic management including highways (public roads) installations, and what a good construction site looks like with elements such as security, segregation, signage and so on being explored.

A good traffic management plan will not only reduce these type of incidents, but will also have a positive impact on site and can increase productivity.
