The Working Well Together campaign usually run about 60-65 events across England, Scotland and Wales every year. Most of the events are free to attend and we usually feed you too!

    FREE Groundworkers Safety and Health Awareness Event

    This FREE event aims are to raise awareness of the safety risks when penetrating the ground. Whether it's simply to better understand ground conditions or why 'shallow' or 'deep' excavations fail, this event provides the latest advice and guidance. There will be opportunities to meet experts in the field of groundwork's and to seek advice. Importantly, this event is interactive, providing attendees the opportunity to view a series of "practical' sessions with equipment, both in and out of the ground on a mock 'live' site.  If you dig in the ground, supervise or manage groundworkers, manage a contractor or are self-employed this FREE half day event is for you.

     

    The program of presentations/ demonstrations will cover the following topics:

    - Lightweight shoring Range - what's available

    - Excavator mounted vibrators (EMV's), Pee-Augers, Vibration monitor alarms

    - Latest and most innovative way of safely pitching, driving, and extracting sheet piles

    - Temporary works - why an understanding is crucial to the groundwoker (classroom session)

    - Excavator mounted vibrators (EMV's), Pee-Augers, Vibration monitor warning alarm

    - Confined spaces demo/discussion carried out with C7G confined space mobile unit

    - Davit arm/harness/rescue - demo/discussion with davit arm attached to an excavator

    FREE to attend Construction Work at Height event Tuesday 20th June (am)

    Yorkshire Air Museum, Halifax Way, Elvington, York YO41 4AU

     

     If you have a small building, construction or contracting company, or if you are self-employed and would like up to date advice to help you get to grips with health and safety, this free half-day event is a must.

     

    There will be demonstrations from :

     

    Trad (Trad Deck & horizontal lifeline system);

     

    Generation UK (sliding transoms);

     

    PASMA (safe erection/use of tower scaffolds);

     

    Exhibitors (with products/services relating to work at height);

     

    and a talk by Paul Blanchard (behavioural safety speaker) to conclude the event.
